Creative Resourcing, a specialist recruiter working within the manufacturing sector are currently seeking a procurement specialist to work for one of our prestigious and global leading pharmaceutical clients.

Job Purpose and Role

  • To provide all round procurement service and to help transform the function into a best-in-class professional procurement organisation in terms of performance, processes, support and reliability
  • The Procurement Specialist actively manages all local spend categories and ensures alignment with regional and global category strategies and effectively implements these on site. They will strive to generate and deliver ongoing value through savings and to ensure the supply of goods & services to the site. They will ensure the stability and security of supply in line with current and future business needs at the lowest total cost.
  • To ensure the Procurement Specialists will provide effective management of all categories, driving ongoing value, continuous improvement and complying with global procurement policies and processes.
  • To be accountable for all procurement spend at the site that is not captured by the global category team including CAPEX, Operational and non-Operational spend on goods and services and ensure that spend is in-line with budget.
  • To manage the relationship with all business stakeholders on the site
  • To be the Procurement representative in local management meetings
  • To support the implementation of global Procurement initiatives and projects
  • To ensure Procurement are compliant at site level in line with local requirements (HR, Environment, Health & Safety (EHS), Legal compliance, Code of Conduct, Anti-Bribery, HM Customs & Excise).


  • Must be Degree qualified preferably in a scientific or technical discipline.
  • Significant professional Procurement experience, preferably in the Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Broad portfolio of Procurement experience in the areas of Manufacturing and Commercial activity will be considered.
  • Professional certification in Procurement is essential e.g. CIPS.
  • Strong negotiation skills, exceptional analytical skills, strong multi-cultural skills, high energy level, and a bias towards action
  • Proven ability to deliver on-going value through savings and improved services.
  • Solid understanding of procurement best practices
  • Ability to draw strategic insights from analysis and effectively summarize and present proposals for implementation
  • Ability to quantify financial benefits for identified opportunities and initiatives.
  • Understanding of international business and contract law
  • Experience in a SAP ERP environment preferred.
  • MS office skilled (e.g. excel and power point)


Our client is offering a salary of up to £60,000 coupled with an excellent remuneration package.
